We’re so proud of our Skye volunteers

Before the summer (2014) a celebration was held in Portree to honour Skye’s community groups and volunteers. Amongst the recipients were our Family First volunteers, Nikki Nicholson (North Skye) and Antoinette Chalmers (South Skye). Nikki is second from the left, in the top row, and Antoinette is next to her, third left, top row, receiving her certificate.

Certificates were also presented to volunteers from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Portree YMCA and Dyslexia Scotland. New ‘Little Stars’ certificates also recognised the volunteering efforts of children under the age of 12.
The event was organised by the Skye and Lochalsh Council for Voluntary Organisations and was attended by CAB, Family First, Crossroads Care, Marie Curie, Connecting Carers, Friends of Portree Hospital, Step it up Highland, the Shirlie Project, Viewfield Garden Collective, Highland Third Sector Partnership and Bracadale Wildlife Watch Group.
