PLiP – Play and Learning into Practice

Our ‘Play and Learning into Practice’ course, delivered by CALA and HiMATS, is targeted at fairly new, inexperienced or unqualified staff who would like to access a comprehensive introduction to early learning and childcare. The course, FREE to practitioners working in Highland, is delivered one day a week, over six weeks, and provides a wide range of practical learning experiences as well as the necessary underpinning child development knowledge and an understanding of how to set up and run an effective childcare provision.

PiP – Play into Practice

New or unqualified Out of School care staff working in Highland can access this FREE practical five-day course delivered by CALA and HiMATS. The course provides students with an introduction to the value of play in out of school settings. The course has one SQA NC unit incorporated into it: Children and Young People: Process of Play. It is therefore an ideal introduction to study for those beginning to work towards a relevant qualification.

These courses are open to all staff from early learning and childcare settings, early primary, out of school care and childminding.
