Staff at Croileagan Inbhir Narainn have been developing learning Stepping Stones with the children and have come up with this rocket display to help the children develop awareness of their learning progress and involve parents.
Children discuss their learning target with their keyworker and this is noted next to their name. When they have worked on this and made some progress, they take a coloured triangle and stick it on their ‘Stepping Stone Rocket’. The display is situated right by the door and has provoked lots of comments and involvement from parents. The staff also include ‘Stepping Stones’ as a regular feature on their daily time line which encourages children’s engagement and review.
