Building the Ambition (BTA) is the Scottish Government’s new National Practice Guidance on Early Learning and Childcare Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
BTA provides practical guidance on the experiences and interactions necessary to deliver the best learning journey for babies, toddlers and young children. It describes what is good practice in creating caring settings that allow wellbeing and creativity to flourish.
Care and Learning Alliance and BTA
Local authorities, trainers and practitioners in all types of ELCC settings throughout Scotland should be aware of and implement BTA guidance. CALA’s managed centres, members and practitioners are critical players in the effective implementation of BTA in the Highlands and Moray.
Through providing appropriate training and supporting quality improvement we ensure that we are implementing good practice, helping to create caring and nurturing staff and high-quality settings in line with the BTA goals. You can examples of good practice on the CALA Blog.
CALA offers full day and half day training on BTA – both as part of the Highland Council CPD programme and bespoke for Authorities and Childcare Settings. For further information please contact the CALA Inverness office.
