Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Female Genital Mutilation is illegal in Scotland and is a form of child abuse. Practitioners should follow Child Protection procedures if they suspect there may be a risk of this happening or if they are aware that it has happened to a child that they know.

Care and Learning Alliance’s Female Genital Mutilation advice sheet contains more information and relevant links to more advice and training on the forhighlandschildren website.
