Child Protection Training

The Highland Child Protection Committee (HCPC) in partnership with CALA provide a suite of 6 free child protection related, interactiveand certificated e-modules via the CALA E-Learning Zone. All courses link to national guidance and practice in Scotland including ‘Getting it right or every child’ (GIRFEC).

Everyone involved with children and families in any capacity should complete the ‘Introduction to Child Protection’ course as minimum level 1 training.  You can choose when you want to complete the modules at a time and place to suit you, work at your own pace and can replay and revisit at any time. Once complete, simply download your course certificate for your CPL record.

Please note, from 1st April 2022, all CPC courses will be booked using the TURAS system. When you first visit you will be required to set up your own account with a password. To assist registration for childcare staff Sector is ‘Care homes, care at home and day care in Scotland, Healthboard area: Highland, Professional Group: Community and Social Care, Professional role: Early Years or childcare working or manager.  Please ensure you add your job role to your registration and you will then be able to book courses and access your own training record at any point.
