Care and Learning Alliance are delighted to announce the launch of, the new home for CALA Staffbank on the web. 

What is CALA Staffbank? 

The CALA Staffbank provides a unique opportunity for both men and women to work or gain experience working in the childcare sector in a variety of stimulating environments.

Staffbank welcomes applications throughout the year from a diverse workforce including those looking for a new, interesting and challenging role working with children, to those qualified or working towards their Childcare Qualification.

Using the website

To apply to become a relief childcare practitioner with Staffbank, head to the ‘work for us‘ page, where you will be walked through the application process. 

If you represent a childcare centre and want to make use of the Staffbank in order to cover staff shortage, go to the ‘become a Staffbank client‘ page, where you can download all the necessary paperwork. 

Members Area

If you are already a Staffbank practitioner, there is a ‘members area’, where you can download documents relating to your work as a Staffbank practitioner. This page requires a password to access. Ask Darren or Amanda for the password 🙂

Are you looking for flexible, part-time work opportunities with total control over when & where you work?

Do you have a few hours to spare during the week? Do you enjoy working with children? Do you have a skill or interest such as reading, sport or arts & crafts which you could share with local children whilst supporting children’s learning and earning at the same time?

CALA Staffbank currently have vacancies in your area for men & women of all ages to work as:


£7.85 – £8.40 per hour

You could work as a relief childcare practitioner in a variety of settings (e.g. creche, nursery, playgroup, primary school or out of school club) on an ‘as & when required’ basis to cover additional events, staff annual leave, sickness absence, training etc. Duties include offering quality early years/out of school provision meeting and supporting the development needs of the children. Training opportunities and support are available. We comply with all SSSC requirements.
