Strathpeffer Eagles benefit from Fareshare

The following blog article was submitted by Issy Fowler, Parent and Toddler Group Facilitator:

Strathpeffer Eagles Out of School Club recently signed up to Tesco’s Fareshare Food Cloud scheme. This is a scheme where charities can register to receive foodstuffs and resources from Tesco, that are surplus to their requirements. We go down on a Monday evening to pick up the items that they have packed for us. We have received lots of bakery goods, toys, cereal, tins, party food, bottled goods and sweets.

Just before Christmas Tesco very kindly delivered selection boxes for every child, as well as toys to use as prizes at our Christmas party. The photo here show Tesco manager Andy, assisted by his colleague Rudolph (Tom) delivering the selection boxes. If you would like more information about the Fareshare Scheme visit

Christmas Fun at Strathpeffer Eagles

The following blog article was submitted by Issy Fowler, CALA Parent and Toddler Group Facilitator:

Strathpeffer Eagles out of school club were very busy recently making lots of decorations to take home and to decorate the room. We made some salt dough, cut out Christmas shapes using cookie cutters, left them to dry and had lots of fun painting them and making them very sparkly, with lots of glitter! We decorated our tree and made paper chains so the room is looking very festive.

We thought we would try something new this year so we got an encaustic wax set and did some great pictures on card, which we used to make calendars.

Look out for our next blog piece which will have the details of the brilliant Fareshare Food Scheme that we are part of.

Baking Fun at Strathpeffer Eagles

Strathpeffer Eagles out of school club were very busy recently baking some cakes.  At the club we try to bake every week and the children enjoy it very much.  We try to bake something healthy to have for our snack that day.  Our next baking activity will be some treats for our Halloween party on the 27th October.
