Bookbug at The Living Room
Whilst the regular baby and toddler groups that meet at ‘The Living Room’, Fairways, took a break over the 2014 summer holidays, the venue was still put to good use by hosting summer Bookbug sessions!
Community Development worker Annette Maclean who runs the Connections project at The Living Room was trained earlier this year by Care and Learning Alliance to lead Bookbug sessions.
With her new blue t-shirt and an armful of books, Annette was keen to get going with Bookbug,
It was great to be able to run these sessions, I really enjoyed my training and it gave me the confidence to try some new rhymes and ways of story-telling. Many groups stop over the summer, including our own, so it was lovely to be able to offer these sessions once a week and those who came along thoroughly enjoyed it. We’re looking forward to running more Bookbug in the future.
The sessions ran each Wednesday morning during the summer with around 12 babies and toddlers taking part.
