Beechwood ELC will be open to provide childcare 8am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The setting will be open throughout the year, excluding Easter Weekend, May Day & 2 weeks over the Christmas period. 

Beechwood ELC will provide high-quality care and learning for children aged 0-5 years.

The setting will operate from 2 playrooms:

0-2 years room

2-5 years room

Each room has direct access to enclosed dedicated outdoor areas and children (age dependent) will have free flow access. 

CALA’s Operations Manager Ruth Gomes will be the initial manager of  Beechwood ELC to establish the new staff team, ensure the quality of provision and work with and for the children and their families to ensure the setting delivers the very best high-quality care and learning through the environment, experiences and interactions.

Each playroom team will be led by an experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner.

Recruitment for Beechwood has just taken place and the newly appointed Teams are awaiting their PVG checks and other registration processes before taking up their new posts in the coming weeks. All members of the Team will take part in CALA’s extensive induction and learning and development programme prior to opening on the 19th July.

We are delighted to be offering 1140 funded provision beginning for all children from the term after their third birthday and for some eligible two-year-olds.

You can use your child’s funded offer spread over the whole year or choose the option to condense it into term time.

For children not yet in receipt of funding or top up your funding to access further hours, you have the option to self-fund. More on CALA’s payment policies will be shared here shortly.

We place great emphasis on developing a positive relationship to work in partnership with you as your child’s most important educarer, based on trust, mutual respect, open communication and shared, informed decision making.

Nurturing relationships and parents as partners are key to a child’s development therefore your child will be assigned a ‘key worker’ shortly before or soon after starting.

Your key worker will take the lead for providing responsive care, following your child’s care routines and will support you to complete a care plan (within enrolment form) to enable us to meet your child’s individual needs.

Your keyworker will take a special interest in your child, really getting attuned to their needs and interests, to enable them to nurture their all-round development and well-being. They will plan experiences based on your child’s needs, interests and stage of development and will report on your child’s progress, efforts and achievements and be on hand with advice and support for you and your child.

Our staff team works closely together, sharing observations and information on all children, supporting continuity of care and ensuring play and learning needs are met.  Should your key worker be absent, you will still see a team member at the beginning and end of the day who knows how your child is doing and will respond to questions or concerns you may have.
