A visit from the big boys and girls! An fheadhainn mhòr a’ tadhal oirrn!
Children and parents at Na Rionnagan Beaga Inbhir Theorsa were delighted to welcome probation teacher Miss Sutherland and her class to the final session of the term this week.
There are seven children in the primary two class and they are the first children to be taught through the medium of Gaelic in Caithness. The class is part of Mount Pleasant Primary School in Thurso. The ‘big’ boys and girl sang us some lovely songs that we were able to join in with and also a couple of new ones which we would love to learn!
It was lovely to have them join us for snack and our snack song as well as taking part in our Lycra games and songs! You can maybe see ‘Spot’ in one of these photos during our ‘Càite a’ Bheil Spot’ song.
We finished off the session with some music and dancing and thankfully, with the help of the shakers we made last session, we had enough instruments for everyone!
How nice it was to see the children interacting with their teacher using Gaelic and an inspiration to the members of our toddler group who are considering Gaelic Medium Education for themselves.
