13th – 19th March 2017 is… Highland Hero Week!

From the 13th to the 19th of March, our friends at Safe Strong and Free  are running “Highland Hero Week”. Here is what they say about it:

“Following on from the success of last year, we are delighted to bring you Highland Hero Week. This year we are encouraging nurseries, schools, youth clubs and local businesses to join us by dressing up at work and making a donation or asking your friends and family to sponsor you. All competition entries can be sent to us by email at [email protected], or via Facebook. Looking forward to seeing them all.”

Building the Ambition training at Technotots

The following blog update comes from Norma Ruettimann, CALA Training Development Manager:

A blustery, cold wet Wednesday evening on 22nd February didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for learning and professional reflection of owner/manager Jayne Goddard and her staff team at Technotots Childcare in East Kilbride who attended our 2.5 hour training on the national guidance for early learning and childcare ‘Building the Ambition”. As you can see from the photo there was plenty of discussion and hard work relating the guidance to practice in the setting. Here are a few comments on learning and thoughts on the training  from evaluations:

“A knowledgeable experience”

“Learned what each child needs in experiences and interactions”

“Everyone was on board!”

“Working together with child, parent and staff”

“How children and staff work and play together”

“The importance of play”

“More child led play, chat, interactions”

Many thanks to Jayne and her team for their warm welcome and active participation.
