Rothiemay & District Playgroup is a committee group which is run by parents and staff managed by Care and Learning Alliance. The group is commissioned by Moray Council to provide pre-school education for children aged from three years up to five years.
The group will also take children from their third birthday on a fee paying basis if the child has been given an allocated funded place by Moray Council, e.g. a child has a September birthday; parent will pay a small fee per daily session until children are funded by the council in January.
Our Vision Statement:
‘Our mission is to advance the education and social development of pre-school and younger children, with the emphasis on play experiences and to assist and include their parents/carers in their development’.
The playgroup is situated in a playroom within Rothiemay Primary School. There is a wonderful outdoor area which is securely fenced off to allow children access to physical play on a daily basis.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn about growing as the children have access to raised flower beds which enables them to learn how to nurture and develop seeds into flowers or vegetables.
