Disclosure Scotland - PVG Scheme
The Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme) went 'live' on 28th February 2011. The new scheme replaces the Disclosure system and applies to statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations that provide services, activities and amenities for children and protected adults. During the first year of implementation it will apply to new staff/volunteers within an organisation.

It will become an offence for an individual to do, or seek to agree to do, any regulated work for which the individual is barred.

It will be an offence for an organisation to offer regulated work to an individual barred from that work.

It will become an offence for an organisation not to refer an individual to Disclosure Scotland where the grounds for referral have been met.
